I’m Laura, a Glasgow-based illustrator, graphic designer and creative lead with over 15 years’ experience across illustration, branding, print, pattern, product design and educational publishing.
I’m especially drawn to projects with personality - work that needs warmth, wit, clarity, atmosphere or a strong visual voice. I like making things feel considered without making them feel stiff.
My work sits somewhere between playful and practical. I love character, colour, hand-drawn quirks, typography, pattern and storytelling, but I’m equally comfortable working commercially - shaping ideas around a brief, an audience, a budget and a final outcome.
Over the years, I’ve worked across homeware, stationery, greetings cards, children’s education, exhibitions and digital learning products. I’ve designed surface patterns and product ranges for major retailers, illustrated science and maths materials for learners, built visual systems for large educational projects, and run my own greeting card brand.
I’m interested in graphic props for film and TV too, especially work where design has to feel like it belongs to a particular world, character or story - whether that’s a label, poster, document, book cover, piece of packaging, sign, or strange little object that needs to look like it has always existed.
My background in design management and creative direction means I’m good at seeing both the detail and the bigger picture. I’ve led teams, built templates and workflows, briefed illustrators and designers, managed quality control, and worked with clients, buyers, factories, editors and educators to get creative work over the line.
I’m open to freelance, contract and collaborative projects across illustration, graphic design, branding, print and pattern, educational design, product artwork, presentation design and graphic props for film and TV.
